Meilland Roses Excellence Recognised Once Again by ADR

Two new rose varieties from Meilland’s selection programme have been awarded the prestigious ADR label, an international reference for the quality and performance of garden roses. These are Bianca KNOCK OUT® ‘Meiradblaz’, and CHINOOK SUNRISE® ‘VLR001’. At the same time, CANDIA® MEIDILAND® ‘Meiboulka’ has had its ADR distinction reconfirmed. These awards recognise Meilland’s expertise and its commitment to creating roses that are as beautiful
as they are resistant.

ADR: A Rigorous Evaluation Process for High-Performance Roses

Established in Germany, the Allgemeine Deutsche Rosenneuheitenprüfung (ADR) is one of the leading evaluation programs for new garden rose varieties.
Over a period of three years, varieties are assessed in several trial gardens across Germany, without spraying. Independent experts evaluate their disease resistance, winter hardiness, flowering and ornamental value. Achieving the ADR label therefore demonstrates performance assessed over time, with particular emphasis on plant health and robustness. The label is awarded for a limited period and can be renewed following a new evaluation.

The 2026 Award Winners

For Meilland, these new distinctions are part of a long-standing tradition of
excellence and expertise. They add to an already impressive track record and
reinforce the company’s position as the most awarded non-German rose
breeder by ADR. This recognition reflects the company’s ongoing commitment
to developing varieties that combine ornamental quality, resistance and garden
performance, meeting the expectations of both professionals and gardeners.
