In early February, at MEILLAND, we had the pleasure of welcoming 45 students (CM1 / CM2) of Denis Tissot School in Le Cannet Des Maures. Together, we planted 280 trees and shrubs to create living hedges around our rose trial fields.
This initiative reflects Meilland’s commitment to agroecology and local engagement. Our ambition is to develop agroforestry with 800-1000 trees per hectare, potentially up to 15,000 trees planted over the next 10-15 years 🤞
This project was made possible thanks to the support of the association Des Enfants Et Des Arbres whose mission is to reconnect children with nature.
A commitment to agroecology

This program has multiple objectives:
-
- Sustainable improvement of soil structure and fertility
- Creation of more temperate microclimates in summer
- Improvement of working conditions for teams (shade, fruit harvesting, improved working environment)
- Strengthening biodiversity, restoring natural habitats, and revitalizing water and carbon cycles.
An educational and social initiative

By involving a school in this initiative, Meilland is helping to:
-
- Strengthening ties between the agricultural world and citizens
- Offering children the opportunity to discover gardening and nature
- Raising awareness of climate issues and the fundamental role of trees
- Showing citizens that simple actions can have a lasting impact on the environment.
